First, would like to start by stating that this 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV car is the finest of its kind, eriod. Not period-correct, ut ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING throughout! If you have a high-end numbers matching classic car or investment-grade classic import that you are selling, would consider interesting trade ideas. Now sitting on our showroom floor here @ 'Red Hills Rods & Classics', s Dick Lackey’s absolutely gorgeous all numbers matching, ully documented and National Award-Winning 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV. This rare Pontiac GTO RA IV is the finest of its kind available anywhere @ any price, eriod. This 1970 GTO Ram Air IV has received a full frame-off professional concours-level restoration, etaining its original numbers matching 400 Ram Air IV engine, riginal numbers matching Muncie M21 4-Speed transmission, riginal numbers matching 3.90 rear axle, nd 95% of the components under the hood are original as well. How many all numbers matching GTO Ram Air IV cars have you seen lately? The fact is that 99% of the RAIV cars that are out there do NOT retain their original drivetrain. These cars were raced hard, nd usually lost their original block very early on. It is nearly impossible to find a ‘real’ Ram Air IV GTO with its original motor & transmission. I located this incredible car through Jim Mattison from Pontiac Historical Services (PHS), ho then hooked me up with the owner, ick Lackey, very well known Pontiac enthusiast & collector. When Jim told me how incredibly nice the car was and that all of the drivetrain numbers matched, jumped at the chance to acquire the car just as soon as possible. Dick was a pleasure to work with and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Pontiac muscle cars. According to the PHS documentation, his GTO RAIV left the factory optioned out as follows: (WW) Ram Air IV Motor, uncie M21 Close-Ratio 4-Speed Transmission, .90 Safe-T-Track Axle, ood-Mounted Tachometer, ower Steering, ower Disc Brakes, onsole, eavy-Duty Shocks/Springs & Firestone G70-14 Whitewall Tires. When the car arrived here in Utah, was completely blown away, s the car was nicer that I ever imagined it would be. It is as close to ‘flawless’ as you will ever find. The 100% rust-free sheet metal is absolutely laser straight all of the way around the car, nd the factory correct (Code M) Pepper Green paint is simply 100% perfect! All of the chrome & bright work is show quality throughout. Open the door and it’s only more of the same. The factory correct (Code 256) Green Bucket-Seat Interior w/ console is perfect from front to back. From under the dash to the headliner, verything is factory correct and looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line. All gauges, ights, linkers, tc. work like new! Even the original AM Radio sounds great and the lighter pops out hot! Under the hood, estled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay, ou will find the original numbers matching Ram Air IV (WW) motor linked to the original numbers matching Muncie M21 4-Speed transmission which feeds power to the original 3.90 Safe-T-Track rear axle. Again, 5% of the components such as RAIV heads, ntake, arburetor, xhaust manifolds, tc. are original to the car! She starts, dles, rives & performs perfectly in every way! The RAIV motor runs super-strong and has loads of torque. It is by far the fastest 1970 Pontiac GTO that I have ever driven by a long shot. I only drove her once to check everything out and make sure she was 100%. When I got back after my test drive, was smiling for the rest of the day. Simply stated, his is a very, ery special car. No stone was left unturned and no corners were cut during the concours restoration. This RAIV GTO is 100% 'factory correct', ight down to the correct T-3 headlamps and original Firestone Whitewall tires. The undercarriage is absolutely perfect and is as nice as the topside (see photos). After Dick finished the extensive restoration, e showed the car several times & received numerous prestigious awards including: the 2012 Pontiac-Oakland Club 'Gold Award' scoring 389 out of 400, nd again in 2013, ith a score of 397 out of 400, eceiving the prestigious 'Senior Gold Award'. In 2013 the car was judged at the GTOAA National Convention and was awarded the 'CONCOURS GOLD AWARD'. This investment grade classic muscle car has been driven less than 80 miles since the concours restoration, o basically it's like you are buying a 'brand new' 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV car. The new owner will receive the full PHS documentation, photo album documenting the restoration as well as documenting the original numbered components, he original Owners Manual, riginal 1970 GTO Service Manual, riginal 1970 Fisher Body Manual, 2) Gold Award Certificates and (1) Concours Gold Award. This is a very serious Pontiac muscle car for a very serious collector! It will be the perfect centerpiece to any high-end Muscle Car collection.
