First, I would like to start by stating that this 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV car is the finest of its kind, period. If you see others that you think compare, simply ask if the car still retains it's original numbers matching motor & original number matching transmission. Not period-correct, not warranty replacement components, but 100% ORIGINAL NUMBERS MATCHING throughout! 'Red Hills Rods & Classics' is very proud to offer you Dick Lackey’s absolutely gorgeous all numbers matching, fully documented... and National Award-Winning 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV 4-Speed! This 1970 GTO Ram Air IV received a full frame-off professional concours-level restoration, retaining its original numbers matching 400 Ram Air IV engine, original numbers matching Muncie M21 4-Speed transmission, original numbers matching 3.90 rear axle, and 95% of the components under the hood are 100% original as well. How many all numbers matching GTO Ram Air IV cars have you seen lately? The fact is that 99.99% of the RAIV cars that are out there do not retain their original drivetrain. These cars were raced hard, and usually lost their original block very early on. It is nearly impossible to find a real Ram Air IV GTO with its original motor & transmission. I located this incredible car through Jim Mattison from Pontiac Historical Services (PHS), who then hooked me up with the owner, Dick Lackey, a very well known Pontiac enthusiast & collector. When Jim told me how incredible the car was, I jumped at the chance to acquire the car just as soon as possible. Dick was a pleasure to work with and is extremely knowledgeable when it comes to Pontiac muscle cars. According to the PHS documentation, this GTO RAIV left the factory w/ the following options: (WW) Ram Air IV Motor, Muncie M21 Close-Ratio 4-Speed Transmission, 3.90 Safe-T-Track Axle, Hood-Mounted Tachometer, Power Steering, Power Disc Brakes, Console, Heavy-Duty Shocks/Springs & Firestone G70-14 Whitewall Tires. When the car arrived here in Utah, I was completely blown away, as the car was nicer that I ever imagined it would be. It is as close to ‘flawless’ as you will ever find. The 100% rust-free sheet metal is absolutely laser straight all of the way around the car, and the factory correct (Code M) Pepper Green paint is simply perfect! All of the chrome & bright work is in show quality condition throughout. Open the door and it’s only more of the same. The factory correct (Code 256) Green Bucket-Seat Interior is absolutely perfect from front to back. From under the dash to the headliner, everything is factory correct and looks like it just rolled off of the assembly line. All gauges, lights, blinkers, etc. work like new! Even the original AM Radio sounds great and the lighter pops out hot! Under the hood, nestled inside the beautifully detailed engine bay, you will find the original numbers matching Ram Air IV (WW) motor linked to the original numbers matching Muncie M21 4-Speed transmission which feeds power to the original 3.90 Safe-T-Track rear axle. Again, 95% of the components such as RAIV heads, intake, carburetor, exhaust manifolds, etc. are all original to the car! She starts, idles, drives & performs perfectly in every way! The RAIV motor runs extremely strong and has loads of power & torque. It is by far the fastest & best driving 1970 Pontiac GTO that I have ever experienced by a long shot. Simply stated, this is a very, very special car. No stone was left unturned and no corners were cut during the concours restoration. This RAIV GTO is 100% 'factory correct', right down to the correct T-3 headlamps and original Firestone Whitewall tires. The undercarriage is absolutely perfect and is as nice as the topside (see photos). After Mr. Lackey finished the extensive restoration, he showed the car several times & received numerous prestigious awards including: the 2012 Pontiac-Oakland Club 'Gold Award' scoring 389 out of 400, and again in 2013, with a score of 397 out of 400, receiving the prestigious 'Senior Gold Award'. In 2013 the car was judged at the GTOAA National Convention and was awarded the 'CONCOURS GOLD AWARD'. This investment grade classic muscle car has been driven exactly 135 miles since the extensive concours restoration, so basically it's like you are buying a 'brand new' 1970 Pontiac GTO Ram Air IV car. The new owner will receive the full PHS documentation, photo album documenting the restoration as well as documenting the original numbered components, original Owners Manual, original 1970 GTO Service Manual, original 1970 Fisher Body Manual, (2) Gold Award Certificates and (1) Concours Gold Award. We also showed the car twice this last year here in Utah, @ the 2017 ISCA event in Salt Lake City where it won 'Best Of Show', as well as the 2017 Salt Lake City AutoRama where it took '1st Place Best Of Show'. Of course, those plaques will be included in the sale. This is a very serious Pontiac muscle car for a very serious collector! It will be the perfect centerpiece to any high-end Muscle Car collection.
