This is one of the rarest GTO's I've ever seen. I can only think that it was an Executive from Pontiac that wanted a muscle car exactly his/her way. It needs a full restoration. I've owned it for many years now but have finally come to the conclusion that I won't be able to give it the time and money it deserves. This Pontiac GTO was 1 of 302 built with these options in 1970. Out of those 302, how many do you think are still around that still have all the correct codes/stamps on the engine components, is virtually rust free and retains the original build sheet? Its a unicorn. They just didn't build many "RA" Ram-Air equipped cars that came with a 455 HO motor. 99.9999% of the RA cars came with a 400ci motor. On top of that, its a documented 4 speed with factory Air Conditioning. None of the GTO guys on the forums believed me that I owned this car until I posted the build sheet. The body is pretty well straight and rust free. All of the body lines and gaps line up as they should and all doors and panels shut with a nice clean "thud." This GTO has never been involved in a collision or accident that I know of. The original paint is faded down into the original primer. The trunk, floors, underside, wheel wells, shock towers, firewall/etc.. are all rust free. We all know how rare this is. If the pictures I post are not sufficient I have more pics that I can send. I have the original build sheet and PHS documentation. I have posted a picture of each. VIN 242370Z112000. Original paint code is Sierra Yellow and came factory with the white vinyl Cordova top and "Saddle" interior. I will try to break down the codes as best I can. The block and transmission are clearly stamped "20Z112000" to match the VIN #. The "2" denotes that its a Pontiac. The "0" denotes the last digit of the model year. The "Z" denotes that plant where it was assembled. Then its followed by "112000" which is the last 6 digits of the VIN number. The rear of the engine block cleary shows "455" stamped on it as well as "20Z112000" as mentioned above. It appears to have been reworked or rebuilt by previous owner and never run. The heads are both clearly stamped "64" which stipulates that this is a 1970/455/370hp GTO. Intake manifold is stamped "9799068" which is correct for the 1970 GTO Ram Air 4BBL cars. I have what I believe is the original Quadrajet 4 barrel carb. Factory wheels all around and I still have the original spare rim as well for a total of 5 wheels. The rear axle is clearly stamped "WU" which denotes a 12 bolt with 3.31 gearing and corresponds with the code on the build sheet. It came equipped with Factory Air conditioning and a 140mph speedo. I still have the factory A/C components, power steering pump/brackets, and the other misc engine pulleys and brackets as well. 1970 was the first year that the GTO came with a 140mph speedo. Mileage is believed to be accurate at 76,403 miles. The car was built in Fremont, CA and remained in sunny Southern CA until 1984 when it went to the dry climate in Nevada. Currently it is located in Grand Junction, CO and I have owned it for many years now in hopes of doing a full-restoration. Always covered and stored in dry environment. The interior is almost entirely complete and original. The factory gauges, AC controls, Ram Air controls, etc... are all intact and functioning. Original door panels and original seat covers are still installed. Notice the rock solid floors when looking at interior pictures. I cannot find a rust hole anywhere. Factory options for this GTO include 455 HO 4BB motor, M21 4speed transmission, bucket seats, white vinyl top, factory A/C, Rally II wheels, floor console, Dual Exhaust, dual horns, Ram Air Hood, roof drip chrome molding, power steering/brakes, Sport Steering wheel, firm ride suspension GP, recess wipers, tinted glass, decor group, Aux gauges and Tach, etc.. etc... etc... I have posted the original build sheet for your review. I work out of town but am glad to answer any questions that you may have. I also encourage any serious buyers to come see the car for themselves before bidding. This car is the real deal and worth good money once its been restored/rebuilt. You just don't see matching numbers to this degree on such a rare build. The car comes with all the necessary parts and components to make it into one of the true, Holy Grail GTO's in the country.
