1982 VW Diesel Vanagon - Water-Cooled Engine, Waste Vegetable Oil System126,844 miles on original engineManuel Transmission Ready for Camper Conversion - Perfect for DYI VW and Waste Vegetable Oil System Enthusiast with Mechanic skills and desire to do camper conversion! Would be best for someone who can drive it regularly and/or keep it garaged Clean Title SOLD AS IS CURRENTLY NOT RUNNING - MUST ARRANGE TOW YOURSELF - Full payment must be processed by cash in person or cashier's check in person or by mail due 14 days after auction close. Can arrange to meet buyer in Seattle or Friday Harbor to complete payment and paperwork. Buyer must sign title transfer/sale paperwork before vehicle is towed. Vanagon is located on San Juan Island (Friday Harbor), WA - There is a ferry that runs from Anacortes to Friday Harbor This was my daily driver till this past summer, when I had to repair master and slave clutch cylinder and update shift linkage system, and then had it towed to auto shop to replace fuel relay and boost pump. Auto shop had vanagon from October till January. Picked it up, drove it home without any issues, next day it would not start again (engine turns over, won't start). May be due to cold weather/not having been driven regularly, but I have moved to Seattle and do not have the time or inclination to trouble-shoot and continue repairs on this great old gent. Bought 9/2014 in Oregon; has had at least 2 other owners. I have all paperwork for repairs/parts replaced for the work I have done the last 3 years, plus the limited records from the previous owner I bought the vanagon from. I had intended to convert this to a camper, so removed the back seat and panelling on sliding doors and back of vehicle and installed sound-proofing insulation (as pictured in photo - does NOT have back seats or panelling on sliding door). Original white headliner in decent condition, no major tears or stains. Plastic vents along interior roof need replacing (some extra replacement parts included), front isle console piece has been removed. WVO system was installed by the owner before me, and includes a 20 gallon tank (currently filled with biodiesel). WVO system could use updating. I have not run it often, and I am not sure if the switch between diesel and WVO tank is currently working. WVO system installed by Enviofuel in Corvallis, OR. I am not 100% sure, but I don't think this company is still in business. This Vanagon was NOT built for speed! He ambles along, especially challenged by hills. Repairs/Updates in last 2 years under my care:
