Description of 1989 Volkswagen Bus/Vanagon |
1989 VW Westfalia Club Joker Vanagon ***She's a unicorn!*** <<<AWARD WINNING VAN>>> Won 1st place in it's category at the VW Nationals event in Auburn, WA on July 14th 2019. (See photos) VIN#:WV2ZZZ25ZKH091209 Specs: - 1.9L turbo diesel engine - 180,000 original miles - purring like a kitten - Gas mileage: 30 mpg - 5 speed manual transmission - High top sleeps 4 adults comfortably. - Two propane powered burner stove and mini fridge - Retractable awning - Front two seats swivel creating living room - Portable toilet that doubles as a seat (removable) - Table comes out for dining/board games/work desk - 100+ point inspection in November 2018, secondary mechanical inspection in March 2019. All checks out well, some minor tweaks have been done: ~ repaired signal hose to boost diaphragm (increasing power) ~ fixed lead on alternator ~ new fuel filter ~ new oil filter ~ new battery ~ new drain plug ~ new sealing washer ~ new brake spring kit installed ~ new axel replacement ~ corrected brake installation ~ oil change - Diesel engine is in its stride and has many many more miles ahead. - Pioneer speakers Vehicle Condition: The engine is running well and is purring like a kitten. I most recently camped on the Olympic Peninsula during rainy conditions and it could not have provided better shelter and camping in those conditions. I also took it up some incredibly steep Seattle city streets and it handled like a boss while the drivers' (me) anxiety was maxed out. Exterior is in great shapeInterior is in great shape for its age. Only blemish on interior is small burn hole in rear bench seat the size of a pencil eraser. The refrigerator is currently not connected. I have not used it myself and not sure if it currently can operate if reconnected to propane. Don't want to fix or replace as this is a common item that is removed from these vans. They are often removed due to inefficiency and being unreliable. They are also being removed for additional storage space. Most people are buying the GoWesty cabinet conversion kit. I will leave it to the buyer to decide. The in-cabin diesel generator used for a heater is currently inoperable. Photos: Additional photos can be found here and I'm happy to take more upon request. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gWVojGrsX37blkIRqVKRPEpZgFB6Juzp Most recent trip was to the Olympic Peninsula and provided wonderful shelter in rainy conditions. If out of state, I'm happy to coordinate with a local appraiser/assessor and deduct the cost of assessment/appraisal if vehicle is purchased. Thanks! |
