Greetings to All!! imotors is quite pleased to offer this rare and desirable 1973 Volvo 1800ES Sport Wagon! 1973 was the last year of production, and these have become quite collectable!! This one even has dealer installed factory Air Conditioning and a manual transmission with Electric Overdrive!! Volvo lovers everywhere get weak in the knees when one like this becomes available. A One owner car that was apparently treated like one of the family, and garaged most of it's life! Examples like this one are unheard of!! This particular example was purchased new in 1973 right here in Pittsburgh from the now defunct Barton Motor company, a factory authorized Volvo dealer. The fellow used it as his daily driver until probably 1989 when it went into storage under a cover to keep it clean. As the date codes on the new tires read 3311(33rd week of 2011), apparently it was made to run and drive sometime in mid 2011, or early 2012. Judging by it's current condition, it was never really driven since then, and remained in storage until I found it back in May. I drained the fuel, and repaired the fuel pump. It will now sometimes run on the cold start injector, and will fire up immediately on starting fluid. My guess is that there is no injector pulse for some reason. It does have fuel pressure. As I am not good with electrical maladies, I could not get into any further diagnosis. It is being sold as a non-running project. The brakes have a solid pedal, and the transmission seems to shift into all 4 gears, and the Overdrive "on" light works, as do lights and gauges. This should be an easy one to get running for the right person! As you will see in the 80 photographs below, this is a VERY SOLID 1800ES! Most of these are either high end restorations, or total rust buckets! There is some minor rust on the corners of the fenders and quarter panels. As it was rustproofed when new, the floors and rockers are solid as a rock, as are both doors. Again, an EASY fix!! The original owner tells me that due to spending a lot of time in Nevada in it's early days, the front seat leather became dry and brittle. As he was not the wealthiest guy back then, he opted for the "Lesser" expensive Velour seat covers that you see today. The rear is still original. While not correct, I kinda like it, as it just adds to the cars patina, and history. If the new owner chooses, they can go back to leather, which should not be too costly! This One of a Kind Volvo 1800ES will be sold to the winning bidder regardless of price. NO RESERVE!!! Last bidder owns it!! We have a clean Pa.title that was issued many many years ago to the original owner when he returned to Pa. from Nevada. It is re-assigned to our dealership. I can get a new title if desired! By bidding you agree to all terms set forth below.
