Description of 1953 DeSoto powermaster |
Up for sale is my 1953 Desoto old school cruiser. This car is a fairly fresh build everything mechanical has been gone through updated or replaced completely. This car is a great cruiser that just floats down the road straight as an arrow. Car needs nothing to be a driver. I'm selling this because it has just sat in storage for 2 years now and I have too many irons in the fire as they say.Custom work on the car includeslowereing shaved shaved door handles nosed deckedheadlights from a '56 Oldsmobile portholes from a '56 Buick and taillights from a '56 Packard. This car has countless hours of custom metal work. Floors and rockers are new as well. The only thing I haven't replaced completely was the trunk pan it does have some minor rot but I felt that I could live with it for a while. The frame is super straight and solid. The paint job is roughly 5 years old now and it shows. I shot it in a flattened enamel. The original plan was keep it in asuede paint until I could afford to do a full rechrome.-Sweet little 283 and 2spd powerglide with only 36K miles on them-Full exhaust with Porter Steelpack muffler-Dana 35 rear axle-Cokers with less than 1000miles on them-New brakes all aroundHand stitched naugahide seats. My upholsterer died before he could finish the complete interior The headliner door panels and sail panels were somehow lost during his estate stuff. All and all this is a great family cruiser. The back seat is MASSIVE. I've gotten it this far its time for someone else to make it their own. Everywhere it goes people flock around it and not one person knows exactly what it is. You'll never see another one like it.New York State did not startissuing titles until 1974 therefor this car does not have a title. I can provide a valid registration and hand written bill of sale. Will also fill out any DMV forms required for transfer of ownership. |
