Description of 1968 Ford Mustang Project |
This auction is for the body and front suspension. The car does not have an engine. transmission or rear end. It has the original doors and fenders. Also includes brand new front fenders (the expensive original tooling ones that FIT!) from NPD. New upper/lower cowl in the box from NPD. The front brakes and suspension are still on the car. The brakes have been upgraded to 5-lug grenada units but they've been on the car for a long time so I'm certain they will need some work. I have a bunch of glass. trim and accessories. 4 doors worth of windows and regulators. The main harness is still in the car. Car does have some rust in the usual places. bottoms of doors. floors. lower quarters and some in the tail panel. I have the rear seat and one of the front seats - all in rough shape. I'm not sure what the mileage is - eBay made me enter a number so I put in 140000. which is probably in the ballpark but this car is labeled as exempt. You're getting a project. It's a solid car but as noted. it needs restoration which will involve some level of rust repair. Bought new at Grant Ford (now Autonation. I think) in St. Petersburg. I recently located the original owner - she is still local. Been in my family for over 35 years. Car is green and I believe it was original with the sprint package. Originally a 200 straight 6 with the only option being power steering. Only bid if you are serious and have the means to pay and are able to pick it up. you will need a trailer. Edit: I've been asked about the rear quarter glass. It's there. along with the mechanisms - probably missing the handles. They are just rolled down in the pictures. All of the glass is there (front. rear. 4 windows. rear quarter glass and 4 front vent windows). All of the stainless is there for around the windows and in pretty nice shape. Also included is a turn signal hood. The car has always had a turn signal hood since I've had it but somewhere in the moves. the original green one was discarded (it did have some rust) and this replacement burgundy one was purchased. The hood looks like it's been painted a couple of times so I'm not 100% sure of the underlying condition. I also have some air conditioning parts. Brackets. compressor - for a 68 302 v8. condition and completeness unknown. With this car. you're going to get everything I've collected over the years for it's restoration. Some of it is new (as noted above) and some of it needs reconditioning/evaluating. I'm sure there are parts that I'm not remembering to list here. |
