Description of 1952 Ford Other Pickups

1952 Mercury M1 Half Ton Short Bed Pickup Truck. All original and solid barn find truck. Was driven into the barn in 1981 and sat in the same spot up until last week. The keys were still in the ignition. A very good candidate for a full restoration. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder.
It has a very solid rust free body for one of these 51-52 Mercury trucks. The floorboards are very good. There is a little rust in the front fenderswhere they usually rust but not bad at all. All paint is original so there has been absolutely zero bodywork done to this truck and there is no bondo in it. There are also very few dents for an unrestored farm truck from this era. The Mercury specific tailgate and emblems are all present and in excellent shape. The Mercury emblems are year specific to 1952 so it is near impossible to source replacements, therefore it is very fortunate that they are in such excellent shape. The Mercury tailgate is remarkably straight, likely the bestI've seenand those of you that appreciate how rare these tailgates are will understand how important that is. These are usually beat up andrusted or missing and are not re-produced. Overall this is a very good solidexample of a Half Ton 51-52 Mercury pickup truck due to few surviving in the harsh northern climate. As can be seen in the photo of the truck in the barn where it was found the knuckles on the grille and the emblems are not present but fortunately these were all inside the cab. I do not know the reason they were removed when it was parked but we have reattached all of these with the original nuts and bolts that were also found in the cab.
The interior is complete and ingood condition for its age. The Mercury specific horn button is present along with the Mercury dashboard script.
Mechanically this truck is complete butthe motor is seized. It ran when parked in 1981 and apparently ran very well. We have not attempted to unseize it, that will be a job for the new owner. All tires hold air and it rolls freely.
Due to the much smaller Canadian market, Ford of Canada only sold approximately one tenth as many trucks as Ford did in the US and around two thirds of those were Ford's leaving the remaining third to be Mercury's. So very few of these trucks where produced and it is becoming much harder for us to source nice original and complete examples such as this. Due to Canada's harsh climate only a handful remain today.

This will make a great project and is a far nicer starting point than many of the barn finds that we sell due to being 100% original and complete with very minimal rust issues. Seldom do we find half ton trucks of this era in such solid and complete shape. Bid with confidence and feel free to message with any questions. Selling withNo Reserveto the highest bidder.
If you would like a shipping quote please message us. We can assist in arranging shipping for you as we have several reliable contacts that we have used before many times to ship our vehicles all over the country and they are all very familiar with loading and hauling this type of vehicle.

who we are and what we do

We are two brothersthat seek out original trucks and cars fromall acrossCanada specializing in vehicles from the 40s, 50s and 60s.

We started heading North to source these vehicles several years ago due to the severe lack of such vehicles in the US in recent times due to our huge car culture. Most American barn finds have long been found and tampered with by several owners yet North of the border there still seems to be an abundance of good solid original vehicles waiting to be brought back to life.

We make these great vehicles available to the US market by importing them into the US and providing all required paperwork to acquire a Clear US Title in your own name in your home State.

We also specialize insourcing Mercuryand Fargo trucks and have successfully imported and found new homes for dozens of fine original examples.

We are passionate about finding the best thatthere is and understand that our customers want to see automobiles that have not been tampered with; the more original, the better.

Our inventory is regularly updated, as new finds are unearthed. If there is something specific that you are looking for, then let us know and we'd be happy to see if we can help.

The business we conduct is straightforward and honest. Whether you're looking for something that'sall original, a starting point for a restoration project orsolid bones for a custom build, Bison Brothers will deliver.
