1966 Alfa Romeo Giulia Sprint GT Stepnose Red 72k Original Miles One Owner

Rare 1966 Alfa Romeo Sprint GT 105 series stepnose coupe. One owner car with thorough documentation from it's very first service in 1965 at 520 miles to it's recent service in October, 2017. Only 72,350 original miles. Original 1600cc twin cam engine with documented engine rebuild in 1993 at approximately 65k miles. Original 5 speed transmission. Original interior. A nice driver as is and a good restoration candidate. These early stepnoses are climbing in value fast.

BODY AND PAINT - Original exterior color was Red. Body is wearing one older repaint with several blemishes. Records indicate that right section of rear panel was damaged in 1966 at 3000 miles. Some of the filler that was applied during the repair has since chipped away from the repaired area, but rear panel is solid with no serious rust. Several other rust repairs were completed to undercarriage (e.g. floors) over the years. All critical suspension points are solid.

INTERIOR - Mostly original grey interior, except the carpet which was replaced and partial reupholster to driver seatback.

ENGINE and TRANSMISSION - Original 1600cc engine starts easily and accelerates with very good power. Documentation indicates a full engine rebuild in 1993 at approximately 65,000 miles. Recent engine compression test recorded 160psi to 170psi. Original 5 speed transmission shifts well, but pops out of reverse gear likely due to a worn transmission mount. Recent servicing includes new spark plugs, carburetor cleaning and fuel tank flush.

ELECTRICALS - Headlights, tail lights, parking lights all function. All gauges appear to be functional except for the water and oil temperature gauge. Horn and heater blower function. A new wiper motor is installed, but wiring needs to be connected.

BRAKES- Brakes calipers are functioning properly. Emergency brake handle operates properly, but the cables require adjustment.

WHEELS - Original painted steel wheels and original hub caps are installed.

EXTRA PARTS and DOCUMENTATION - The following extra parts are included: Toolkit, jack, original spare wheel, extra set of brake pads.Documentation includes clear title and very detailed service history file spanning 1965 to 2017.

Payment: A non-refundable deposit of $1000 is due within 24 hours of the auction close. The remaining balance is due within 7 days from the close of auction, unless other arrangements were made. Accepted payment methods are bank wire transfers, cashier's checks and money orders. If you wish to obtain financing, please do so ahead of time. We reserve the right to end the auction early. We also reserve the right to verify any or all bids to ensure exceptional auction integrity. Please do not ask the reserve amount, as we will not disclose this information.

Shipping: Transportation expenses are the sole responsibility of the buyer. Vehicle must be picked up within 10 days from close of the auction, after which a storage fee of $15.00 per day (or partial day) will be charged. We cannot be held liable for any problems or damages arising from or due to transportation handling. The buyer is responsible for all shipping charges and fees from point of sale to the final destination. In addition, it is the buyer?s responsibility to arrange & coordinate shipping. We are happy to provide a list of transporters.
